9/14/26 GOD REQUIRES OUR RESPONSE

9/14/26 GOD REQUIRES OUR RESPONSE

Those who embrace "sinning religion" and the false notion that the unsaved person has no part in his own salvation find fault with people using the phrase, "Ask (or let) Jesus come into your heart," since it is not a Biblical phrase.

However, it does indicate a Biblical response to God's call to salvation. God offers us salvation, and we accept His salvation by faith. Salvation is accomplished when God's Holy Spirit enters our inner man (our heart) and our life. Obviously, there is much more to the salvation experience, but we are not required to recite all of the parts of salvation when are saved from sin by Christ, such as faith, repentance, submission, confession, regeneration, adoption, justification, and sanctification. Asking Jesus into your heart includes all of these facets. Another simple phrase that expresses the same idea is, "Jesus save me."

The problem for those who embrace "deformed theology" is that they do not acknowledge the human response as being essential to salvation. They believe that our salvation is a unilateral, unconditional, Divine election.

Because of their warped view of salvation, they scoff at the idea and practice of "the sinner's prayer" and the "invitation" or "altar call."

They have exchanged the Biblical offer and Divine call to salvation with a supposed one-sided decision.

Don't let anyone rob you of the offer and opportunity to be delivered from sin. To humble yourself and accept the gift of God's grace is not a human work. It is a human response to the Divine work of reconciliation and redemption.
