Think about this... how many contemporaries of the following list of Bible characters do you think were as receptive, accepting, discerning, responsive to the call of God, obedient to the voice of God, the presence of God, the instructions of God, the wisdom of God, the corrections of God, as were Abel, Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Eliezer, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Joshua, Caleb, Eli, Samuel, David, Nathan, the Prophets of God, the godly Kings and Priests of Israel?

Very few of those who lived near these men had the same thoughts, beliefs, insights, values, understanding as these men, even when they had the same truths presented to them. Very few followed the moral and religious example seen in these men. It was a personal choice, not a fatalistic decree from God. God will allow us to choose faith or disobedience.

Matthew 7:13-14

13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Romans 12:1-3

The failure of others to follow godly counsel and example is not an excuse for us to be slack in our submission and faith. Deliberately be part of, "The few, the humble, the Church."

It is tragic beyond words when a parent loses a child to drugs, to a life of crime, to perversion, to an act of violence, to a disease, to suicide, or even to the popular, but "respectable" sins that turn someone from God, such as success in finances, vocation, profession, academia, entertainment, politics, athletics. Success can be impressive, but deceptive and destructive at the same time. It is gut wrenching to see them drift off into destruction.

But there is a loss that few people talk about, and that is when a child who has heard the gospel and abandons the way of the cross for a counterfeit spiritual experience or a misguided ministry. They will not seek or accept spiritual help, reproof, correction, instruction or loving leadership. They "know it all" and they not only turn their back on truth, but they also turn their back on the ones who can lead them back to truth.

It is worse for the person who turns from the "Old Paths" to proclaim a different gospel, different Jesus and a different Spirit. It is worse because the person who turns from the truth to an obvious sin is aware that he or she needs to reject their dark rebellion. But the person who sells out to the lies of a false belief (whether an established system or a personally developed error), thinks he or she is actually doing the will and work of God. There is often no turning back to truth.

The prodigal may realize his shame and rebellion, but the person who is certain of his or her own value and beliefs are less likely to repent. Their pride, like that of Lucifer, binds them with false hope and arrogant self-orientation.

It is also another layer of condemnation because the self-proclaimed MINISTER is misleading and defiling gullible followers (as well as their own children), and they are also blaspheming Jesus, Whom they are misrepresenting, and they are injuring, wrecking and defaming their Christian family and friends and Biblical heritage. They are misleading the gullible, blaspheming God and slandering actual believers who love them.

Sadly, the faithful father and mother vainly watch the empty road, leave the light on the porch, the door ajar, and wait with open arms for the children that they loved, they fed, they clothed, they protected, they sacrificed for, they poured their best into and they gave them as much light of Christ as they could, but the rebellious one only moves further from family and Christ.

Unhappily, some of the gullible followers of these "wandering stars" will also lose their own walk with Christ (at least for a while) and they will lose close family members to the charlatans, before they finally realize that they have been duped by a false witness. Worse yet, some will never find out that they have been duped, and will lose their souls and their children. They will believe the lies that the Pied Piper proclaims, and they will become part of the darkness, disruption and deception.

Be wise. Be watchful. Be willing to turn them back to the Bible. You will know, if you listen carefully to their words and their attitudes.

The modern, western Church is looking for the Volunteers, the Warriors, the Champions, the Heroes of the faith, that are Missing from Action.

Pray that God will send out Soldiers of the Cross, to rescue those who are being held captive by Satan. Too many young believers are quietly sitting back while the forces of evil are raging without resistance.

Knowing history is super important. The Bible is not strictly a History Book, but it is a book that records a lot of history in detail. All of mankind's history is important, but only a small portion is important for the world to know about. All of God's history is important, but we are only given a glimpse of the history of God's relationship with mankind in the Bible. This makes the Bible a very important source of history. More precisely, the Bible is the history of God's dealings with the human race, concerning salvation. He revealed His plan through a tribe, a nation, a people and ultimately through the God-Man, Jesus Christ, and then offered it to the whole world through His chosen vessel, the Church. This is why the Bible is sometimes referred to as His-story.

There is no understanding the human race, the human condition, the human need, the human hope without understanding the Bible. There is no understanding God's nature, works, and plan without understanding the Bible. A misrepresentation or a misunderstanding of God in history negatively impacts your present relationship with God and your eternal destiny. A disconnected, lopsided understanding of God and His word will give you a distorted and misleading message. This is why it is so very important to have and understand your own personal relationship with God, your own history with God.

Today there is an extraordinary range of hodge-podge of beliefs and errors. This substantiates Biblical prophecy concerning deception in the Last Days. The Heresy Express is running away, attracting unprecedented numbers of gullible people.

If your beliefs are not found in the 66 books of the Holy Bible, or trust the revealed God of the Bible, or if you are not being transformed into the likeness of Jesus Christ, then you are following the wrong teachers. If it is not the old-time gospel of salvation from sin and impartation of holy love, then you are following the wrong message. There is a salvation that saves from all sin in this present evil world, there is a hell to be shunned and a heaven to be won. It is hard to find a church that is actually preaching eternal truth, but you must do your very best to find it and follow its message. If the salvation it offers does not conform you to the image of Jesus Christ, then it is not the salvation of God.

Do your due diligence to "make your election sure (certain). Your soul and your family depend on it.

I have been encouraging men and women of voting age to be registered and plan to vote.

There may come a time when voting will not be possible.

There may come a time when there will be no valid candidates for whom Christians can vote.

When a Christian votes, it is not because a candidate or Party is dedicated to a totally Christian platform. We vote because we want to promote and protect the most important values available through legitimate government.

But we have come to a time when the Democratic Party not only promotes some questionable or unacceptable policies; the Democrat Party has proved itself to be the enemy of freedom, faith, and family in the major issues of government, to the point that the Democrat Party is a Communist movement. There are people so dedicated to the Democrat Party that they do not see the obvious evidence.

Every Party and Every Candidate has their problems. No Candidate is perfect. However, there are some basic principles which make it easy to choose where you will put your vote.

At the present time, a person does not need to be well versed in politics in order to choose the right political party.

There used to be two main Parties; the Democrats and the Republicans. Now there are only the remains of one viable American oriented Party, and that is the Republican Party.

The modern Democrat Party is not the American oriented Party of days gone by. Over the decades the Liberal Democrat Party became more aligned with anti-American and Marxist principles.

I was not raised in a politically oriented family.
My mom was from Scotland, and she had no political leanings there or here.
My dad was from a coastal town in North Carolina. His family did not have political interests.
The community, like most American communities, was enamored with FDR and therefore it leaned toward the Democrat Party.

I did care about my country as a young person, but I did not have any political interests from the time I was a Jr. Hi student ('60) through my college days ('69).

At the beginning of my ministry years ('69) I was concerned with the direction of our country (racial upheaval and the Viet Nam war). The Mideast was becoming a very active war zone (Israel was in conflict with her Muslim neighbors) and Christians were suffering greatly under Communism (Russia and other Soviet bloc nations, China. Liberation Theology was rising in African countries ('60s-'70s) and Western Europe (United Kingdom, Germany, France) were being deeply corrupted with Theological Liberalism and Globalism.

But through all of those rapidly rising changes, I was still not a politically oriented person.

In the '70s American Christianity, Patriotism, American culture and social structures were being undermined by Christian Liberalism and Political Liberalism and Marxism.

There was a time when Democrats and Republicans both subscribed to the Constitution and American Exceptionalism. But as Liberalism, Marxism, Humanism and fake Scientism was being foisted upon college and university students, the public school students of America were being led away from Chrisitan and American ideals.

Regardless which side won, the country was still the USA.

I am not saying that there were never any vital setbacks or disagreements. I am just saying that we were still a free country, where the people had a say in the direction of the country. No matter who won or lost, there would be dissatisfaction within the winning and losing parties. No one got everything they wanted. But we were still the United States of America.

Under the surface there was a cancer growing. A corruption waiting for the opportunity to destroy America. Socialism (another name for Communism) started poisoning Americans in the 1800s and continued into the 1900s.

I will preface my conclusion by agreeing that there are problems with the Republican side.

BUT, at least the Republican Party has not (yet) exchanged the American way for Communism or Christianity for Islamism.
At least the Republican Party (to a much greater degree) still holds to the the U.S. Constitution.

At least the Republican Party has not turned against Christian faith and practice.

Though there are Democrats who will deny the total sell out of their Party, the platform, the candidates, the actions, and the declarations of the Democrat Party is a complete betrayal of the American way of life concerning freedom, faith, finances, and family.

There was a time when the country would continue to move forward, improving itself as the greatest country in the history of the world. But we don't have that luxury now.

Based on the actions, attitudes and aspirations of the "big tent" Democrats, America must be replaced with a Christless, corrupt system.

A vote for the Democrats is a vote to end free voting.

A vote for the Republicans is a vote to allow free voting, for the present.

All human systems will eventually fail. The Democrat Party has failed, and to support it is a vote for America to fail utterly and immediately.

One of the main problems I see in the beliefs of many assertive Christians today is their parroting the views of loud voiced people who are "on a jag" or "riding a hobby horse" and those loud, appealing voices sound Christian. Those who follow those shallow voices become expert in the misinformed teachings of those Pied Pipers rather than actually knowing God and His word.

Folks need to be careful about having "pet" ideas that actually conflict with what Scripture actually says. The fault might be in the parishioner. Maybe they did not listen to Bible teaching closely enough, or maybe they got diverted by impressive communicators of false doctrines or drawn into appealing carnal ideas. Or maybe their pastor did not teach them solid Biblical truth, either because he was shallow or because he was dedicated to another Jesus, another Gospel, or another Spirit.

When a cause or a doctrine that is not clearly taught in the Bible is glommed onto by a believer, then that believer becomes the tool of Satan, thinking that he or she is doing the will of God. Energy, ability, time and opportunities are spent on a passing fancy.

It is disturbing and discouraging to see so many believers(?) caught in the web of deception. If the teaching does not result in perfect love, Christ likeness and Biblical proclamation of salvation from sin, then the teaching is imperfect and unfit for human consideration.

If your church pulpit is silent concerning the sins of a wayward society and government, it is not because God restricted your pastor from addressing the sins of Islam, Communism, Socialism, Wokeism, Religious and Political Liberalism (Progressivism, The Left), or any other euphemistic camouflage intended to hide the anti-Christ, anti-Bible, anti-family, anti-freedom, anti-morality, anti-civilized, anti-common sense deceptions of Satan. Failure to sound the Biblical alarm is silent approval and support of evil.

The pulpit is not a platform to spout personal views, nor is it a hole to crawl into and hide from a raging attack of darkness on society. The pulpit is the trumpet call to truth and obedience to God.

We are in the process of voting for our government leaders. We are not voting for a pastor, a spiritual leader, a moral model, though that would be wonderful to have a moral leader in this Sinsane and Idiocratic world. We are voting for people to protect the righteous (law-abiding) and punish the wicked (criminal) and this means facing and crushing the enemies of a free society. Remember, God instituted human government as His arm of justice and civility, in the days of Noah.

A vote, even an intelligent and well-meaning vote, can be misplaced or result in a turn-coat politician. But a vote for a party that has already and blatantly turned against Christ and the governing principles of America, is a vote for national suicide.

I would not vote for a Democrat to be Dog Catcher, Garbage Collector or Sewage Disposal Commissioner (all of which are honorable and important positions), since it would be like putting the fox in charge of the hen house. The Dem Party has proved itself to be the enemy of true liberty and safety and has become the promoter of Idiocracy. The incredibly long list of sinsane policies foisted on America since 2009 by this Party proves my point.

While we have a chance and a choice to protect ourselves and our country from the scourge of oppression and national collapse, we need to stop the herd of Burro Kratz. See that party for what it is and stop it. You can't follow Jesus fully if you deliberately align with the platform of the avowed enemy of the cross.

What I am about to say is probably true in everyone's life, to varying degrees.

I view the events of my life as a series of parables, teaching me about God. Momentary life events are lessons about life in general and spiritual life in particular. The seemingly mundane events often have arcane messages. We need to understand that God is active in our lives, not only providing and protecting us, but preparing us for later experiences.

God works in every area and event that take place in everyone's lives, and believers should be especially aware of this. "All things work together for good to those who love the Lord, and are the called, according to His purpose." Divine involvement is not the execution of a preplanned, unilateral, fatalistic, unalterable, unconditionally decreed blueprint, it is the loving and redemptive work of God's gracious pursuit, protection and provision for us. He does not create or choreograph every minute detail or major decision, but He is present in every moment of our lives offering Divine power and purpose. We are to follow in His steps and bring every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. The faithful, obedient, productive life is the result of walking in the light that He gives us, by the grace He grants us.

It is through these lessons (which are "hidden" in plain sight) that we come to understand God's presence and work in our lives. Some events may be a "one and done," but usually each step is a steppingstone in our spiritual path.

God speaks to us clearly and inerrantly through His written revelation (the Bible) and He gives us wisdom and spiritual guidance by His Spirit. There is no new revelation, but there is new enlightenment for the person who is willing to hear and heed the leading of God. God also provides teaching through sound counsel and personal experiences, for those who have ears to hear and eyes to see, and willingness to learn from our daily relationship with God will cause us to continually triumph through Christ.

Here is one quick and simple example from my own life. Soon after I started Bible college, I had a minor accident that injured my ankle. Having suffered ankle injuries and a broken foot in the past, I was aware that my injury was not only painful at the moment, but it was probably going to cause me trouble for a period of time. Nonetheless, as soon as I slipped down the icey steps, I praised the Lord. In that moment I was truly grateful that it was not a greater injury, and I also knew that God would help me through the recovery. My sudden praise was not a planned, mechanical, perfunctory, or forced response. It was an actual, heart-felt praise and thanksgiving. This response was something God had been recently working into my life through learning and growing in grace and knowledge.

Within a few painful steps I realized that God was already delivering me from pain. Within moments I was saved from the suffering and the inconvenience of my injury. NO, I am not referring to a "name it claim it," deliverance. I am not saying that "praise" is a quick escape from a problem. I already believed that God could and would deliver from physical suffering (according to His will). What I did realize on a deeper level that giving thanks and praise at all times is the way to respond. I could see that it is normal for a serious and faithful believer to give praise and thanks in the face of disappointment and difficulty. From that one-time experience I adopted an ongoing mindset and behavior. I don't just SAY the words, I feel and I mean the words. It changed my viewpoint for a lifetime. I don't praise and thank God with the expectation that He will necessarily change my circumstances. I praise and thank Him because He is worthy. Sometimes He delivers me from my present difficulty and sometimes He delivers me in the midst of my difficulty. Realizing and accepting that God's wisdom and His will saves me from a life of doubt and dismay.

I told you it was a really simple example. But that is the point. God can teach us something life-changing from the most routine experiences. Don't miss the Divine wisdom in your earthly trials. They are intended to strengthen and deliver you.

James 1:2-8

2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;

3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

Here is a re-post of one of my favorite documents. I compiled it from the word of God several years ago, giving over 35 categories in which the grace of God is active in the life of the believer. I think it is good to shine the light of God's delivering grace into the depths of our soul.

It is AMAZING GRACE.
God's grace not only provides forgiveness for our past sins, it leads us into righteousness and righteous living, it empowers us to resist temptation, it sets us free from all guilt, it purifies us from all sin.

It is not only sad that some folks deny the reality of the greatness of God's amazing grace, but because they deny and reject the work of God's amazing grace they don't have that amazing grace in their lives.

GRACE IS AMAZING
Hebrews 4:16
16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Grace does not simply save us from the penalty of sins committed; it empowers us to resist the temptation to sin.

Grace that does not empower believers to live a holy life, is not saving grace, it is not God's grace.

2 Corinthians 1:12
12 For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation (conduct, behavior) in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward.

Grace not only saves from penalty of sin and power of sin, it saves from the pollution of sin.

Grace that that does not purify the heart is not saving grace or God's grace.

When someone (even a self-proclaimed elect person) tells you that it is impossible to be holy or to live a holy life...that person is speaking for himself and testifying to his own lack of grace. That person is not speaking for God.

A Challenge for "Church Going" folks.

What new (or at least fresh) vision do you have for your own relationship with Jesus. I am not referring to private, personal issues in your private life. I am referring to God's leading, encouraging, enlightening you concerning your walk with Jesus, your service to God and others, your growth in grace and knowledge.

This is not calling for a self-oriented brag session on yourself. This is an invitation to brag, boast in Jesus and His grace and His faithfulness and His ongoing work in your life.

It is good to give thanks to the Lord for His watchful care and bountiful supply and miraculous deliverance from darkness and sin's domain.
It is good to praise Him for His nature and His works.

It is also good to testify and report to the world (believers and unbelievers) His continuing work of transformation and enabling and direction.

We all need (personally and corporately) to hear about God's presence, and His present work in the life of believers.

We need to be among those believers who are lifting up praise, thanksgiving, and an up-to-date witness of His indwelling grace and glory and how He is currently leading us in victory, joy, peace, love, service to others.

If you don't have this ongoing leading and growth taking place in your life, then the Challenge is, Repent, Seek God, Follow the Holy Spirit.

When our walk with Jesus is a present reality of growth and victory, we are blessed, other Christians are blessed, the backslider is convicted, the lost are enlightened.

Be a blessing, not a burden; a help, not a hindrance; a stepping-stone, not a stumbling block.

If you are riding with me in the car sometime, you might think every day is Flag Day because there are various periods in my life when I give a quick salute to American flags as I pass them on homes, businesses, government buildings, public parks, clothing, vehicles. It isn't, "My country, right or wrong...", it is honor and appreciation for the exceptionalism attained by my country, based on the Christian principles upon which it was founded and built.

I know I am exceptionally blessed to have been born and live in the USA. I know I am privileged to be an American. I also realize that I enjoy the benefits of freedom, fortune, and the faith of Christ because of my country, culture, Christian heritage.

Sadly, our societal desires and allegiances have taken us away from God. Not only will we lose the material treasures we enjoy, we will also lose our security and our abundance, and mostly, the blessings and benefits of God's favors. We will join the dying nations of the world.

God expects us (personally and nationally) to live in faithful obedience to His will. He has given us everything necessary for life and godliness. We cannot control what other individuals, or our nation will believe or do, but we do choose our own relationship with God.

I love my country in a very special way, and I love the peoples of the world. But, as the song says, "This world is not my home, I'm only passing through." My worldwide love is because I am bought with a price (the Sacrificial death of Christ), and transformed by His physical resurrection from the dead, which gives me forgiveness and deliverance from sin, transformation from darkness to light and deception to trust.

AND, since it is such an exceptional gift I have been given, I want others to benefit from its riches, starting with the knowledge of Christ, as Lord and Savior.

There is one ATONEMENT.
There are several THEORIES of the one Atonement.

The Atonement is what God did to provide salvation for sinful people, and it is revealed in God's word.

Theories of the Atonement are human explanations, which are based upon specific systems of theology. The Theories are reminiscent of the Six Blind Indians who gave their individual descriptions of an elephant. (I am not saying that the elephant is the model of the Atonement, I am saying that the human attempt to explain the something is the same.

Some of the Theories of the Atonement are:

Recapitulation (Irenaeus)

Ransom (Origen) [to Satan or to God]
Satisfaction (Anslem) [Propitiation]
Moral Influence (Abelard)
Penal Substitution (Reformers)
Example (Socinus)
Governmental (Grotius)
Mystical (Schleiermacher)
Vicarious Repentance (John M. Campbell)
Elect and Effective (Barth)
Christus Victor (Aulen)

The Atonement is Sacrificial, (Divinely provided by God's love and mercy, satisfying God's Justice), it is Sufficient for all sinners, and it is Efficient for all who believe), it is Substitutionary (Jesus did for us that which we cannot do for ourselves).

Remember, the devil will use right words to lead us astray. Just because the word, "Atonement" is used by a "Christian" speaker, it does not mean that they are using the word correctly. They may be adding to the actual meaning, or they may be subtracting from the actual meaning, or they could be twisting the actual meaning.

While most of these Theories include elements of truth, they also have elements of error, and none of these Theories includes all of the truth. This is not a simple subject to address, but it is a worthy subject. In this post I am not explaining these Theories. I am simply saying that the Atonement is more than any one Theory presents and the Atonement does not include many of the things presented by the various Theories.

There are some truths we can know about the Atonement, because the Bible says them clearly.

There are some misrepresentations of the Atonement in these Theories because they hold to a Systematic Theology, which disagrees with certain Biblical truths.

Therefore, I encourage folks to be careful when hearing a doctrine presented. It may be faithfully Biblical, or it could be a partial truth that fits an errant narrative.

Well, a God hating, Jesus hating, Bible hating, Christian hating, Jew hating, American hating, Muslim, who swore allegiance to the USA and wore an American Army officer's uniform, illegally carried a gun onto an Army facility and shot to death 12 unarmed Americans service people (one of whom was pregnant), and 1 civilian in 2009. The coward also wounded over 30 other people and altered the lives of many, many more. His Muslim brother, President Barak Hussein Obama refused to call it a terrorist attack and labeled it simply "Workplace Violence." Though the monster (the shooter) was found guilty and sentenced to death by lethal injection, he is still alive after 17 years, thanks to a wicked and crooked "justice system," and a perverted love affair between American citizens and Islamicists. Remember too, Biden set a moratorium on executions, while he was in office. This protected the Muslim murderer, even after Biden left office.

Finally, the State is about to do that which God assigned it to do, all the way back to the time of Noah. God gave the State the responsibility to protect the righteous (law abiding, innocent) and to punish the wicked (the criminal). As long as the State does not do it's job, the citizens will suffer and the enemy will rule.

Hasan (the cowardly follower of a blood thirsty belief system) should have been removed years ago. Instead, our Liberal Government and sinsane, Leftist society have given protection and support to our would-be destroyers all this time and have been giving the enemies of our country the time and encouragement they need to FUNDAMENTALLY CHANGE the USA. It is happening while you are reading this post.

Finally, our leaders have taken steps to give Americans, and Christians the justice and protection that a civil society deserves.

But don't get too use to it. As soon as the Islamic, Communist connection is in office, it will all revert to oppression and destruction.

I love my country. I love all of humanity. But the only hope for anyone is that they believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and turn from sin and their idolatrous religions

It is time for Christians to take up the Sword of the Spirit and to stand against evil. But I am afraid that my words will largely go unheeded.

Here is another view I used to have concerning possible church ministry planting.

I used to think how cool it would be to buy old motels across the country (with or without restaurants) and use them for Christian ministries, such as church facilities, Christian camps, training centers and schools. The motels of the early 1900s were often small and had a warm and welcoming personality. Those locations, being near, but not in the middle of a busy area, would allow folks to focus on their relationships with God, family and other spiritual realities.

Maybe I thought about this because my dad managed a couple of motels when I was very young. The motel near Wilmington, N.C. had a restaurant. We lived in a house on the same property as the Motor Court and Restaurant, so I spent a lot of time where the people gathered. I was in the first grade, but I interacted with the restaurant workers and the travelers. When I came home from school, I would go into the restaurant and order up anything I wanted to eat or drink. My friend's group included the cafe staff and the constant flow of new acquaintances. It was a strange life, but it was an adventure for a young boy. I remember one preacher who stopped while on his travels. I was around 6 or 7 years old and had been called by God to be a preacher, so I was interested in talking to him. The thing that stood out to me was his familiarity with his Bible. It was as if you could mention any Bible reference and he could turn within a few pages of that passage immediately.

In those days it was a really nice motel in Coral Gables, Florida (near Miami). It did not have a restaurant, but we lived in the "Manager's Quarters" attached to the Motel Office. This was cool, because we would sit outside of the office with motel guests in the evenings, near the sidewalk and facing the Boulevard, enjoying the location in the 1950s Coral Gables. I remember one particular night a lady was walking her pet on a leash. The pet was either a Cheetah or a Jaguar. WOW, THAT WAS COOL FOR A 7 or 8 year old.

As a very young child, I enjoyed meeting people, sitting around listening to the travelers share their stories. This was an important part of my early exposure to cultural differences and an education in communicating with adults of various backgrounds. If my parents had been saved (converted believers and followers of Christ) then the conversations would have been much more important and meaningful.

As I said earlier, I thought that old motels would have been great places to have a local ministry and a great way to spread that ministry to other locations. Later in my ministry years I think I saw that someone had done something along these lines.

However, as the years went by, I saw that there is a price to pay when a ministry allows any human entity to take the place of Jesus as the only Head of His Church. Local ministries often surrender the Headship of their church to the State, to a Denomination, to Carnal Church Leaders, to Financial Supporters, to Local Governments, HOA's, Community Pressures, zoning codes. Sometimes the rule of the church is challenged by some of these groups, even when the pastor and congregation is determined to follow and obey God. This is a worldwide problem that we are starting to face in America.

There comes a time when worldly oppression exerts pressure and persecutes an obedient body of believers. Many of today's local churches walked into the devil's trap blindly, and they lost the ability to serve God as fully and freely as they intended. I have tried to learn how to serve God without making a contract with anyone or any institution that will try to usurp God's authority and Christ's Headship of His own church. Making great investments in properties that can become controlled by the unsaved can become a counter-productive endeavor.

State intrusion and oppression of Chrisitan lives, families, ministries will increase in our future (as we have seen it in other countries). We will not see the kingdom until the King comes back, and we cannot avoid the persecution by a darkened society, but we can be as bold as lions, as wise as serpents and as harmless as doves. We will not hide our faith in the face of the oppressor, but we do not need to hand the keys to the enemy. We need to ask God to show us the godly way to fight the good fight of faith, assault the gates of hell, without being entangled in the affairs of this life, until we are called home.

There is a false notion being presented by some popular religious personalities, saying, "Our choosing to believe in and trust Christ for salvation from sin is a work of the flesh." Such a notion is false and contradicts God's word which requires us to believe in Christ and to turn from sin to righteousness, and to follow Christ daily. Such a contradiction is not only heretical, but it is also blasphemy against the word of God.

Faith is not a work of the flesh.
Repentance is not a work of the flesh.
Confessing our sin is not a work of the flesh.
Seeking God with the whole heart is not a work of the flesh.
Loving God with our whole self is not a work of the flesh.
Hungering and thirsting after righteousness is not a work of the flesh.
Walking in the Light is not a work of the flesh.

These are actions performed in obedience to God and essential for salvation.

The devil lied to Adam and Eve in order to lead them away from God's loving goodness.

Satan lied to Jesus during His forty days of temptation.

Satan now lies through false teachers to lead us away from seeking, surrendering to and serving Christ.

As Paul said, "I fear lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtility, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ."

God wants to save us from all sin, and He has provided for all who are willing, that they may come and drink of the water of life freely.
The devil wants to complicate the simple message of salvation by twisting words and appealing to the pride of supposed intellectual superiority.

The way to God is faith, not presumption. Faith is deliberate trust in Christ and faith is confirmed by our willing submission to God's call and God's leading us.

If I was looking to start a ministry today (or in the future), I would look for a church building that is for sale in the same area as my targeted ministry. I would purchase it as a residence, not as a "church." This is reasonable since a church is not a building but a body of believers, and the place that a church gathers or ministries are provided can be basically anywhere: traditional "church" structures"* (including a Catholic "church" building*), storefronts* (including an annex to a bar*), library meeting rooms*, hotel or motel meeting rooms*, a rented auditorium*, office buildings*, tents*, open fields*, travel trailers*, church busses*, camp-ground meeting rooms*, camp-ground laundry room*, jails* and prison facilities*, nursing* or retirement homes*, theaters*, funeral homes, among other public buildings, or it could be in a person's home*. We have met in the locations designated with an asterisk (*).

My purchase of a "church" structure would be for the purpose of it being a personal residence. I would not have a tax number (under any circumstance), and I would not need one since it would be a home rather than a business. I would not get State permission for homeowner activities, including worshipping God. I would have a place to live and to freely practice my faith with family, friends and invited guests. This is what Christians do in their own homes.

I would convert the rooms into a home situation. This would provide for family sleeping areas, office and study and library accommodations, prayer room, media room, game room, guest rooms, an area for group get togethers (meals and praying and singing and Bible study, and spiritual sharing, activity room for parties, celebrations, fellowship events). The property would probably have a small, paved parking area on which I could set up a Basketball goal for family fun time. It might also have a yard to play Pickleball and other outdoor activities, such as picnics and group singing and sharing. I have seen old church buildings sold and used by karate schools and other businesses. I often thought, "What a shame that such a useful facility for Christians should become a business site."

I have also seen old church buildings bought by various cults, which was the most disturbing of all. I have also seen old church buildings purchased and turned into private homes, which I thought would open opportunities for a family to serve the Lord.

Remember, the early Church and bodies met in schools, catacombs and their homes, and believers today (some of whom are under persecution) gather in a wide variety of situations, including hideaways, in the forest, undisclosed facilities and personal homes.

I hope the time and opportunities come for me to start satellite ministries. And how awesome would it be to find an old church building that could be renovated into a personal home for a believer.

I posted this in order to share my continuing vision to reach my world for Christ (without compromising the Lordship of Christ over His Church). As I was composing this text, I also hoped it would help others in their spreading the word and shedding the light in their dark corner of the world.

There was a time when I was more interested in the person running for office than the Party. But when the Donkey Party turned against sanity, morality, America, Christianity, and family, I decided that a vote for the Democratic Party was a vote for the very things that are against freedom, faith (Christian), and family, and voting for one Democrat is voting for the whole rotten platform and its lunatic leadership. It is a unified and determined team of moral and political freaks in that Big Circus Tent.

I realize it may eventually be true of the Republican Party also, but not today. Use your vote to protect your rights and your family. We will not see the Kingdom until the King comes back, but we must occupy (stand for truth) in the meantime.

Just because they enjoy the beauty of a sunset, it does not mean that they are not BLIND.
Just because they keep religious rules and regulations, it does not mean that they are FOLLOWING JESUS.
Just because they use deodorant and cologne, it does not mean they are A SWEET-SMELLING SAVOR TO GOD.
Just because they don't bump into walls, it does not mean they are WALKING IN THE LIGHT.
Just because they "identify" as Christian, it does not mean they are SAVED.
Just because they associate with Bible believers, it does not mean that they are A CHILD OF GOD.

Don't be fooled. Being a Christian is the PRESENT REALITY OF A RIGHT RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS. Being a Christian is being a NEW CREATION IN CHRIST. Being a Christian is BEING CONFORMED TO THE IMAGE OF GOD'S SON. Being a Christian is a WHOLE PERSON REALITY. Being a Christian is THE TRANSFORMING WORK OF GOD IN A PERSON WHO IS LIVING BY FAITH IN CHRIST.

Salvation involves what we are and what we do.

Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
