9/08/26 THE WHOLE PACKAGE
Your pastor's job and your opportunity leads to success and victory.
God has not only given us the gospel (the message of salvation from sin for sinners), and the fullness of the gospel (the promise of the heart purifying fullness of the Holy Spirit for believers), but He has also given us the whole counsel of God (everything we need to know in order to receive everything we need for life and godliness).
God provides everything we need for salvation, for heart purity and victorious living, through His word, through His Spirit and through His messengers. As a pastor I endeavor to lead the lost into a right relationship with God through saving faith, and I endeavor to lead believers into the fullness of the Holy Spirit, and I endeavor to lead folks into a life of victory and spiritual growth, overcoming all of life's challenges.
The Bible is a treasure chest of Divine revelation, including doctrine, history, prophecy, morality and ethics, Divine nature and works, Divine law (natural and human), relationship (familial, social, ecclesiastical).
The responsibility of pastor is to preach, teach, counsel, lead, comfort, enlighten, correct, rebuke, convey God's word to people.
Ecclesiastes 12:9-14
9 And moreover, because the preacher was wise, he still taught the people knowledge; yea, he gave good heed, and sought out, and set in order many proverbs.
10 The preacher sought to find out acceptable words: and that which was written was upright, even words of truth.
11 The words of the wise are as goads, and as nails fastened by the masters of assemblies, which are given from one shepherd.
12 And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh.
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
Colossians 1:25-29
25 Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God;
26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:
27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
28 Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:
29 Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.
2 Timothy 3:16
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
2 Timothy 4:1-5
1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.
