02/09/26 DON'T MISS THE POINT

02/09/26 DON'T MISS THE POINT

Okay, or OK (depending on how formal you want to be), I try to write in a grammatically correct fashion (but for various reasons, which [or that] you may choose to call excuses), I usually need to edit my writings (and sometimes I actually do). I want my writings, which [or that] my writing aid tells me are incorrect, to be correct, but sometimes the so-called corrections are incorrect.

But now, to my point, I have tried to use "which" and "that" correctly, but it has become too much of a hassle. Even the authorities on grammatical usage and technical definitions (restrictive and nonrestrictive clauses) disagree.

PLUS, THE FACT that some people will NEVER GET my point because they are more focused on the relatively trivial than they are on the essential point I may be addressing.

But, back to WHICH and THAT. I will probably only use 'that" in the future and be finished (not to be confused with, Finnished) with a useless "which hunt."

This does not mean I won't make mistakes, or have typographical errors, or choose to reject corrections THAT AI writing tools may errantly and arrogantly suggest.

I am thankful for the help available, but sometimes the "authorities" don't know what they are talking about. I often find errors in the approved corrections. And, NO, I am not going to take time to prove my case. And YES, I know I make mistakes, and I am not satisfied with those errors.

If I am wrong grammatically, please be understanding and magnanimous by focusing on what I am trying to say. If you think I am wrong grammatically, move on. Go to your box of letters, numbers, punctuation marks, which(es) and that(s) and fix my post in your own mind. I don't have time to re-educate the masses of misled "experts."

The Bible says that love covers a multitude of sins, but some people don't have enough love to get past a grammatical foopah (or faux pas, for those who speak Chinese). Oops, another faux pas.
